The Scandinavian circus season 2005

Very soon we had to say goodbye to 2005 and it is a tradition for Circus Scandinavia to look back at the circus year. First of all I want to say that, the Scandinavian circus business has a very high quality in almost all circuses. Even the smaller ones managed to entertain their spectators very well. It is clear, that the small businesses don’t have the same money to buy international stars as their bigger brothers. Anyway I was very much entertained also in the smaller circus. To mention some of the small circuses I will highlight Circus Baldoni and the small Danish circus Krone. Baldoni for Thessas and Renés hard work for their "child" and manage to put a very nice performance together with a much much smaller amount of money, than most other buisneses. The small Danish circus Krone for an extremely nice atmosphere, you almost fell that you are coming home when you are there. The 3 bigger circus in Denmark did all very nice performances. Benneweis, with a lot of nice entrees but mostly for adults. The performance was very nice. Circus Dannebrog was far over thir normal quality and did a very well considered performance with a lot of entertainment. 50 years birthday for Circus Arena and a range of top artists made a performance over normal quality.

The Swedish circus Brazil Jack belongs in the middle size and once again, they succeeded with a very very nice performance without the big stars. Also The Swedish circus Olympia manage to find nice artists but here it is there fantastic way to produce horse acts that impress most. There is always a nice atmosphere here in Herbert and Henrika Bengtssons circus. The big star in Sweden this year was absolutely circus Maximum. Director Bent Kallquist managed once again to present a fantastic well considered performance. Lots of dancers, a singer and a unique circus band mixed with some of the best artists in the world impressed me a lot.

In Norway circus Merano showed the Norwegian people how to produce a modern performance in a very high class. Circus Arnardo – the oldest circus in Norway did a very nice traditional performance with a lot of stars. Circus Agora had a nice program with Freddie Steckel on the artist list. Freddy makes on of the best table acts in the world.

In Findland there is Circus Finlandia with a great reputation and once again they presented a international program.

Most circuses in Scandinavia reports about a fair season and some of them had a season over the middle. It seems that there are no circus crises, as we can see in Germany and other European countries.
