Circus Althoff Jacobi

Circus Effi Althoff Jacobi from Austria is very nice circus it is very clean and all the wagons are extremely well held. No rusty cars or broken tires can be found here. Althoff Jacobi is an absolute international circus both in size and quality. Circus Altohoff has this year chosen not to have wild animals in their circus neither elephants has found their way into the ring. The performance was named "Artisten – Tiere-Attraktionen" – (Artists-animals attractions) the big question is why they have put in the word animals in the title, when the only animals in the circus were two dogs and six horses?

The show was led by David Kludsky on high school horse. Nice smooth and easy. Nothing special but that’s a personal opinion – I’m not so thrilled by those one man horse acts but I know that it is a very difficult act and it takes a lot of practice.

Bjorn Aderbold a young German artist did a very nice job entertaining before and under the performance. He was the guy who was dressed as a worker from circus making jokes with everybody. Later he was in the ring with a very nice vertical sail act. Almost every circus has an act like this and it has become very popular. I’ve have seen a lot of those vertical acts this year and they have almost all been very nice – Bjorn Aderbold was no exception.

Duo Kuchberenko reprise clowns from Ukraine did and okay job. Lots of nice tricks and gags.

David Kludskys – Second entrée this time with 6 nice liberty horses. Mr. Kludsky is nice and elegant and his act is absolutely in a high class. Nice tempo, nice horses, nice act.

Kim Kenneth – and his magic illusion act. He calls himself "The Dane in the fast lane" and that name fits exactly to Kim. His tempo is extremely high and his illusions are stunning. He did his old trick where he is driving on a bike through his partner’s body in a new and far better version. Furthermore his was shrinking his partner to nothing and at last he let her disappear and when she comes back there is a clown too. Kim is in an absolute world class and extremely attractive to any circus. In Althoff Jacobi he is working as the ringmaster too and in a very elegant way. For this act kim is awarded as the best act in Austria this year. I haven’t seen other Austrian circus this year but I’m sure that he deserves it.

Duo Skylers – Fantastic perch act from Bulgaria. Very thrilling and in a high quality. In a height of 6 metres all kinds of acrobatics are done with her partner balancing the perch stick on his head. She is secured up there and thanks for that because perch acts a very dangerous.

Messondi Family – Parterre and equilibrists family. Very strong act and very nice. Lots of powerful passages in the act.

Michail Gubanov did a high-level dog dressage. Very nice build up like an adventure over the story singing in the rain with Mikhail on mono bike and 3 nice dogs doing exactly what they was told. Nice dogs and nice atmosphere.

Ivana and Konstantin – Magic clothes change act. A combination of ordinary magic and fast clothe changing. The second act with magic and illusion is maybe one to many. Ivana and Konstantins cloth changing part was nice but their magic part was a little thin. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to put them on after Kim Kenneth. There is nothing wrong with their act but it isn’t quite so fantastic and maybe the impression would have been different if they have been one of the first entrees instead of one of the last.

Konstantin Bessegonovs second entrée this time in a rola rola act. No circus without a Rola rola act and Effi Althoff Jacobi is no exception. Konstantin Bessegonov did a nice act of its kind with some nice passages.

Duo Gubanov did a combination of monobike, motorcycle and antipode. A very nice act with a high level and tempo. Mikhail did some very nice tricks as jumping on the monebike when it was running and the bike has no seat – only a wheel with two pedals. Later he was driving his motorbike op and down stairs and much much more. A nice act with a lot of power and a good choice as the ending act.

A long performance but also a lot of artists with more than one entrée. There were a lot of nice artists but some of the second entrées could easy have been cut out. The performance took about three hours including 20 min. break.

Spectators: 500 (1500).

The performance was named "artists –animals – attractions" the problem is that there were very few animals in the performance. There is nothing wrong with that but maybe a little misleading title. Effi Althoff Jacobi is a very nice circus clean and extremely well cared. The paint was new and nothing rusty in this circus. Toilets were nice and clean with soap and water. The orchestra was an absolutely well playing 6-man circus band playing in absolute key – very nice.

Lots of Souvenirs – Video, Program – very nice, T-shirts, toy trains, posters, caps and much more- very nice.

The service was nice, lots of smiling people.
