The pictures on circus Scandinavia

3 types of camera are used too take the pictures on these pages. The out doors pictures are of cause the easiest. There is plenty of light in the daytimes and because of that I use a cheap ?? Kodak digital camera. This camera is only used outside in sunshine. The advantage of this camera is that it is small and very handy. Here is an example the Camera can be bought for a few thousand Danish Crowns (250 Euro).

You can't use this kind of camera inside

For inside use, yes here starts the problems because you cant use a standard digital camera all the ordinary digital cameras a absolutely useless to take proper pictures inside a circus. Those cameras are made to take daylight photos or close up pictures with blitz. In circus it is often forbidden to use blitz and Circus Scandinavia use two different cameras for our pictures. Yes they are both expensive. The most common solution is the reflex camera with a 400 asa film. We have tried with an 800 ASA film but the result wasn’t better and the film is more expensive. For one performance we take around 120 pictures and many of them are thrown away. Example on a 400 ASA inside film taken with a professional reflex camera with a proper lens. Price for that camera is 8 thousand Danish Crowns (1000 Euro). Including zoom lens.

The newest camera is our professional digital camera, with many advantages. 6.3 millions pixels and a super lens. You have to go up on this quality to take proper digital Photos inside a circus. It takes super professional pictures and many of the features are automatic. Very good and you can use the pictures immediately. Here is an example on pictures taken by my Canon 10D – 6.3 million pixels. Price 20 thousand Danish crowns (2500 Euro). All inside pictures are taken without blitz and by Circus Scandinavia.

These pictures could easyly be expanded to poster size witout loosing the sharpnes.
