Web master takes the words

September 2003

Welcome to the September issue.

First of all sorry for last month delays of two articles – Kim Kenneth and the Dannebrog review but sometimes I had to go at work instead of writing on this page.

So in September we try one more time with those two articles and this time it should be ready before October the first.

Lots of trouble for Danish circus in August because the government considered to make performances with sea lions and elephants illegal. Some agreed but most didn’t and the last category did a nice work to prevent this foolish law. Ole Simonsen, the guy with the other Danish circus web and Jorgen Lorentzen – an old circus friend did a nice work with their article in Jyllands Posten (Jutland post). I have received lots of emails from people in Scandinavia including their opinion – everything are send to the minister of justice in Denmark. Circus Merano in Norway wrote a letter to circus Scandinavia to be placed on the web so now we just have to wait and hope…..

The summer season is near the end for most circuses and Circus Scandinavia will very soon look back on this year performances. Lots of positive surprises this year with a much higher standard than the 2002 season. It is still possible to see some circus but most circus are closing down in the first part of September and a few continues one more month. The exception is of cause Circus Scott in Sweden who continues until November.

Circus Scandinavia are planning a Christmas circus trip in Holland and Germany in December were we will take a closer look to those entertainments and hopefully there is time to visit Cirque Boligione in Paris.

Enjoy the September issues
